The name Boismont can point to more than one place in France: there is a commune called Boismont in the department of Meurthe-et-Moselle, and another commune of the same name in the department of Somme. The name also belonged to people, including the French physician and psychiatrist Alexandre Jacques François Brière de Boismont and the French abbot Nicolas Thyrel de Boismont.
