Forstkapelle Stadtallendorf-Neustadt
Inmitten des Herrenwaldes gelegen, befindet sich in stiller Abgeschiedenheit die Forstkapelle „Mariabild“. Schon seit Jahrhunderten zieht es die Bewohner Oberhessens zu dieser alten Pilgerstätte. Der Platz, an dem früher die Kirche des wüst gewordenen Dorfes „Forst“ stand, entwickelte sich zu einem Ort der Marienverehrung und so hatten Pilger bis in die Mitte des 19. Jahrhunderts dort immer wieder hölzerne Marien-Bildstöcke aufgestellt. Im Jahre 1895 wurden diese durch eine aus Stein errichtete Kapelle ersetzt. Die Kapelle ist in rotem Sandstein gefasst und mit ihren roten Säulen ein Augenschmaus inmitten des grünen Waldes. Im Mittelpunkt der Kapelle befindet sich die Pieta mit der Muttergottes, die ihren vom Kreuz genommenen Sohn auf dem Schoß hält.

Mariengrotte Niederklein
The Marian grotto in Niederklein was modelled on the grotto in Lourdes and consecrated in August 1975 by Father Georg Exner. The reason for the construction was the promise to donate a statue to the Mother of God after a serious road accident. Many volunteers were involved in the construction and also helped to collect the stones from the local neighbourhood. In 1979, the statue of St Bernadette was added through a donation. On the occasion of the 40th anniversary in 2015, the area around the grotto was renovated. A new altar slab and new steps were installed and the benches were replaced.
