Basilica of the Holy Mother of God Eleusa, Nesebar
The Basilica of the Holy Mother of God Eleusa, Nesebar, is a former monastery church situated in the UNESCO World Heritage town of Nesebar in Bulgaria and dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary under the title "Eleusa", Ελεούσσα in Byzantine Greek, or "the Tender". The church, on the northern side of the peninsula, was built in the 6th century. It is recorded until the 14th century, and formed part of a monastery complex.

Part of the Ancient Nesebar UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Church of Christ Pantocrator was constructed in the 13th–14th century and is best known for its lavish exterior decoration.

Church of St Theodore, Nesebar
Élevé au XIIIe siècle au cœur de la cité historique de Nesebar, ce petit sanctuaire à nef unique séduit par l'authenticité de ses façades nord et ouest d'origine. Si le toit et les autres murs ont été remaniés au fil du temps, l'édifice conserve de remarquables parures architecturales. Ses murs extérieurs se distinguent par un jeu raffiné d'arcades aveugles, où s'entremêlent habilement la pierre taillée et la brique rouge. Un détail méconnu réside dans l'ornementation subtile de ces niches, rythmée par des motifs en zigzag alternant blocs de pierre et briques selon un agencement en quinconce du plus bel effet.

Church of the Holy Saviour, Nesebar
Érigée en 1609 au cœur de la cité antique de Nesebar en Bulgarie, cette modeste église à nef unique cache des trésors artistiques insoupçonnés. Bien qu'elle ne mesure que douze mètres de long, ses murs intérieurs abritent des fresques remarquables du début du XVIIe siècle illustrant la vie du Christ et de la Vierge. Désacralisée et transformée en musée, elle abrita longtemps la sépulture de la princesse byzantine Mataissa Cantacuzina, dont la pierre tombale est désormais exposée dans le musée archéologique de la ville.
